The Anahata Food Project was started in the winter of 2009. As the economy worsened and the food pantries were serving more people than ever, a group of people from Yoga on High decided to do something to help our hungry neighbors. We had already been collecting boxes and cans of food for a local food pantry, but we wanted to offer fresh food, with the colors and vibrancy and freshness that we ourselves liked to eat. One of the owners of Yoga on High and someone who had recently “married into” an organic farm I had some extra land to offer to the project. We were off and running. –Marcia Miller
